Corinth - A short drive from Athens, more than worth the journey

Corinth gives its name to 2 biblical books. In fact, at Corinth there is a monument containing the text of 1 Corinthians 13, the source of the great discussion on love so often found on wedding invitations.

There is much more to see here though than a modern monument. Tour the museum and the surrounding statues and ruins. Head up to the fortress and enjoy not only the ruins, but the beautiful views of the surrounding countryside.

Going to Corinth was proof that my research was worth it. The initial plan was to just see what Athens had to offer. Athens has enough to offer to make for a very enjoyable day. But adding Corinth into the mix showed a different side to Greece, and made this one of my favorite cruise ship ports ever.
